Yesterday was such a foggy morning, when I looked out the window at 7.00am. I don't recall this happening here before at all. You could hardly see a thing looking down the road in our village.

I fell off the wagon …
The fabric-buying wagon, that is. When I had a few minutes to spare the day before we left Nashville, I mentioned visiting a shop in Murfreesboro. I checked their website the day before and found this adorable panel:
I bought two of them and also purchased a couple of fabrics (a Christmas green grunge and a black and white fabric that could pass for snow flakes). These will make great Christmas quilts that can hang in a doorway (and one will possibly stay here at our home on top of the ridge).

Good morning, my friends. Yesterday was a day of things getting between me and my sewing. As much as the day tried to keep me fabric free, I was able to get in a little bit of slow-stitching and a successful FART (Fabric Aquisition Road Trip). It was a day for physical therapy. I was in need of a couple of fabrics for different projects, and so I sweetened the bitter trip to PT with a trip to the fabric store.

read moreGood morning, my friends. It's another gray day here at the Three Cats Ranch. We're expecting better weather tomorrow and Friday. It would be nice to have good weather on Friday. Matthew and I are planning a walk down by the Willamette River. If the weather is uncooperative, we have an alternative plan, but the walk would be nice. Fingers crossed.
It was a busy day yesterday. Honestly, I didn't think I could get it all done, but I did. There was laundry to do, treadmills to walk, housekeeping to do, bread to bake, and the list ...

Girls day out yesterday. We stopped several places that sold fabric. I don’t usually buy fabric at quilt shops (I know, I know, if we don’t support them they won’t be there), but yesterday was the exception. I love a good scrap bag, and this one was screaming at me to take it home and make a table runner out of it.

The bag contained a section of panel, coordinating fabric and neutrals. What’s not to love?
The trick will be fitting it in between my challenge projects and still making ...
read moreGood morning, my friends. We find ourselves in Klamath Falls, Oregon, this morning. And YAY! We're not home yet, but at least we're in our home state. And forget everything I said yesterday. We had to spend a couple of hours yesterday morning rerouting ourselves when we heard there was a winter weather advisory for the Cascades and the Siskiyous. It will be hazardous trying to get across the mountain passes with that kind of weather, and so we've rerouted ourselves to head north to the Columbia Gorge and then head west toward home from there.

read moreI'm back home again from my two week South Island Tour. As you probably know, I took my knitting with me, but hardly touched it. I didn't want to be knitting in the coach, and after a day sight seeing, plus a big dinner together every night, I was just too tired. But I did almost finish my Wuthering Heights book, nearly at the end of that. A good thing too, as I'm off to see the movie very soon, and I wanted to refresh my memory of the convoluted story.
I was sent a picture of ...

Good morning, my friends. It was a blustery and rainy day yesterday. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I was determined to break my lazy streak by getting out for a walk. Mike accompanied me along my way. The sun was shining as we walked away from the RV, but there were some clouds in the sky. We walked up and down, taking in whatever there was to see. Before we walked away from our site, I turned to capture a shot of this snow-covered peak. This is Charleston Peak...the highest peak in the Spring Mountain Range.

Good morning, my friends. I have a lot to tell you today, and lots of pictures to show. You might want to top-off whatever your drinking and get settled in a comfy chair. Before you do that, though, be sure to lace up your hiking boots. We're gonna go for a short, but challenging hike.
Heading out, we drove directly toward these mountains before turning north. I can never get over the beauty of the geological features of this area. It doesn't have the impact of a place like, say, Monument Valley, but the colors and shadows of ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It was cloudy and cool yesterday, but there was no rain. We took a short drive north for more avocados, but otherwise, we did nothing. I spent a good part of my day slow-stitching. Happily, I have finished the 21st of 21 embroidered sections for the Raggedy & Friends project.
